Meru - A multitiered pagoda that is a distinguishing characteristic of Balinese temples. They are situated in the holiest and innermost section of a temple and symbolize Mt. Meru or Mt. Agung - Bali's largest active volcano. Meru towers have either 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 tiers and your little temple has 5, a sequence of numbers considered sacred not just in Bali but in cultures throughout the world. A particular temple's importance can be more or less determined by the height of a its highest Meru.

Your little temple was hand-carved in Bali with beautiful detail and hand-crafted into your piece of jewellery.
